WHAT IS SECOND LIFE AT DECATHLON IRELAND?
At Decathlon Ireland, we are always looking for ways in which we can achieve economic, social and environmental performance all at the same time, to build on our sustainable development.
With this in mind, Too much is thrown away these days, instead of them being repaired or reused. So we have made it our business to reduce our impact on the planet and breathe a second life into lightly used and pre-loved sports equipment.
Decathlon's Second Life is just one of the sustainability initiatives that we hope will inspire positive change for the planet and its people. Together we can recycle, repair and reuse more sports products and prevent unwanted products from going to waste.
By proving our business can adapt and thrive at the same time as reducing our impact on the environment, we hope to inspire positive change throughout Decathlon Ireland. Our dream is that this will show other businesses across the world they too can change and achieve their goals, all whilst being socially responsible.

HOW DOES SECOND LIFE AT DECATHLON IRELAND WORK?
Every one of our Second Life Products has either been marked or used, which despite being in excellent working order, means we cannot sell them as new.
Our workshop reviews and fully refurbishes each of these products, so we can then offer them to you at prices that are even kinder to your pocket.
The Workshop Team decides and categorises each pre-loved sports product in our Second Life grading system, which is developed under a criteria that then dictates how much of a discount is applied to the retail value of the then Second Life Product in our Ballymun Store.
HOW MUCH OF A DISCOUNT IS APPLIED TO SECOND LIFE PRODUCTS AT DECATHLON IRELAND?
The easiest way to explain the discount on pre-loved sports products is through the Second Life grading system we previously mentioned. The Second Life grading system ranks products from Grade A, to Grade D, with anything from 10% off Decathlon sports products, all the way up to 40% off pre-loved Decathlon products.
The Second Life grading system is as follows:
Grade A - These products are offered to you with minor cosmetic wear, from transit and have never been used. These products are reduced by 10%
Grade B - These products are offered to you with minor cosmetic wear from transit, and may have been used a few times before being brought back to us. These products are reduced by 20%
Grade C - These products are offered to you with some cosmetic wear and tear, and have been used before, but still have plenty of life left in them! These products are reduced by 30%
Grades A, B, C all have their original parts
Grade D- These products are offered to you with some use, and parts have possibly been replaced to extend their life. These products are reduced by 40%
DO I STILL GET A WARRANTY ON SECOND LIFE PRODUCTS?
All products come with a 2 year warranty on repair. You can come to our workshop at any time to have the item reviewed in store. There is a no refunds or exchange policy with all Second Life items purchased.
HOW DO I GET SECOND LIFE PRODUCTS FROM DECATHLON?
All of our Second Life products at Decathlon Ireland are available in our Decathlon Baile Munna Store.
