Here at Decathlon, we value our sports playgrounds, which is why we feel it is important to celebrate World Earth Day this April.
When is World Earth Day?
World Earth Day is an annual event on April 22 in 2023. This day focusses on demonstrating support for environmental protection.
Poppintree Park, Ballymun Clean up
There are many ways to help prolong the lifespan of nature and the environment in which we live.
As a business in the Dublin community, we feel it is our responsibility to do what we can to conserve nature in this community.
In honor of World Earth Day, Decathlon Ireland will be organising a local clean up in Poppintree Park, Ballymun on Friday the 21st of April, from 10am - 1pm.
Anyone is welcome to come to help us clean up one of our local parks and our team will provide litter pickers, gloves, and bags onsite.
Join us for an hour, or even just a few minutes, to help us conserve our community.

The Importance of Environmental Protection
Due to overpopulation and human negligence, we have over exploited our resources. Unfortunately, if this continues, there will be no resources left for future generations. The main reasons to conserve resources and protect our enviornment are:
· To support life by supporting ecological balance
· To ensure that the future generations will be able to access the resources
· To preserve the biodiversity
· To ensure human race survives.
